Sestak Representative Visits Austin

Chris Baker, a representative of U.S. Senatorial Candidate Joe Sestak, visited Austin, Pennsylvania, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015.

While  in Austin, Chris stopped by the Austin Dam ruins, E.O. Austin Home/Historical Society, Austin Area School Building, and the baseball complexed.

He is attending Penn State University majoring in History/Political Science and played on the PSU Rugby team.

Chris hails from the city of West Chester, Pa. He admired the beauty of our area and stated he will be returning to Potter County every chance he gets.

Austin Dam Memorial Association Meets Tomorrow Night



The regular monthly meeting of the Austin Dam Memorial Association  will take place tomorrow night, June 30th, at 7:00 p.m. at the E.O. Austin Home/Historical Society.

(Please note that the ADMA has changed their monthly meetings to the LAST Tuesday of each month)
 The Austin Dam Memorial Association was formed in 1994 and works diligently to preserve the dam remains and to maintain a beautiful natural park.

The ADMA is actively recruiting new members and all members of the public are invited to attend their monthly meetings.

Our $46,033.68 Borough Building in Austin, Pennsylvania

Although never approved by the Austin Borough Council, in March 2015, the Austin Borough moved their administrative office to 21 Turner Street, the site of the former Northwest Savings Bank. Recently, the sign in front of the building was erected.

The Education Center at the Austin Dam Memorial Park


Saturday, May 23rd, was a beautiful day here in Austin, Pennsylvania, so Angie and I decided to take our Sunday drive and view the Austin Area School District's Project Based Learning results at the Austin Dam Ruins.

While there, I noticed that new exhibits had been placed in the Nuschke Pavilion.  Here are some pictures I took that day:
