On August 1, 1909, E.O. Austin, founder of Austin, Pennsylvania, passed away at the age of 83. He is buried in Forest Hill Cemetery.
A museum dedicated to the founding father is located on Main Street in Austin and named the E.O. Austin Home/Historical Society Museum.
